BeWILDerwood Norfolk Family Day Out: What to Expect
If you’re planning a BeWILDerwood family day out in Norfolk, this guide covers everything you need to know.
The Magical Entrance: Where the Adventure Begins
One of the best moments of the whole day whatever your age happens right at the start.
As soon as you step through the gates, you’re guided down a magical woodland walkway tall trees overhead, colourful signs, and that unmistakable feeling that you’re leaving the real world behind. The path leads you over the river, deeper into the woods, and straight into the whimsical world of the Boggles, Twiggles, and all the curious creatures who call BeWILDerwood home. For kids this is quite magical as you get to see their little homes up close and wonder where they are.
It’s the perfect way to set the tone for the day: adventure, imagination, and a whole lot of fun.

The Boat Ride to Meet the Swamp Dwellers
Before you dive into the climbing and exploring, you get the chance to hop aboard a gentle boat ride that drifts across the Scary Lake. Along the way, you’ll meet the Thornyclods — the quirky, swamp‑dwelling creatures who live in the murky waters and tangled reeds.
They’re silly, mischievous, and full of character, and the boat ride is a brilliant way to introduce kids to the magical world of BeWILDerwood and the friendly guide was amazing and had lots of stories and kept the us all entertained.
Once you have left the boat you enter the activity zone and this is where the energy lifts a notch or too.

Our Favourite Activities & Attractions
We packed so much into our day — and still didn’t manage everything, which is exactly why BeWILDerwood is such a brilliant place to revisit. Here are a few of the things you will experience on your visit.
Climbing Treehouses at BeWilderwood Puppet Shows at Bewilderwood Sky Maze Treehouse at BeWilderwood
Sky‑High Wooden Play Structures
Treehouses, rope bridges, wiggly walkways, and towering climbing frames. The kids were off like rockets. The Sky Maze proved to be one of the biggest hits as we lost all 3 of them for at least an hour!
Slides & Zip Wires
Huge slides, tiny slides, twisty slides and zip wires that they ran back to again and again so perfect for all ages and heights as they cater for all. Although I suddenly realised that our little people have no fear I on the otherhand not as brave on the large slides!
Den Building
We spent ages creating dens from branches and logs and became super competitive and what was so lovely at the end we got to pick the winner and all of us managed to squeeze in and take a pic!
Puppet Shows
The Boggles and Twiggles come to life in a charming puppet show that gives everyone a chance to sit down and enjoy some shade as we visited on a hot and rather sunny day but also if they want they can sing and dance and in our case they had the chance to play musical instruments you can imagine how tuneful it was with a 4 year old. These shows are throughout the day at planned times and the kids loved them so you squeeze them in especially if you fancy a sit down.
Crafts & Face Painting
All included in the ticket price is a craft session and our little ones got to make a crown, they also had face painting that kept the magic going and definitely gives them and you a chance of a little bit of peace and quiet and a chance for a nice iced coffee in my case.
Picnics, Snacks & Treats
There are plenty of food stops around the park, but we brought a picnic and enjoyed it under the trees and there are some special picnic areas around the park we liked the seating just behind the craft tent as it was under the trees. Later in the afternoon, we treated ourselves to ice cream why wouldn't you which was the perfect cool‑down after hours of climbing and exploring and a chance to talk through the best bits which of course no one agreed on.
Why BeWILDerwood Is Perfect For Kids
We love this place and is perfect for our brood but If your children love the following:
climbing
sliding
exploring
running
building dens
imaginative play
…they will be in absolute heaven here.
A Brilliant Summer Day Out — But Magical All Year Round
Although we visited in the summer this is not our first rodeo as BeWILDerwood is one of the best year‑round family attractions in Norfolk because the woodland setting transforms beautifully with the seasons and we have visited at Halloween also.
The park is open most of the year you need to check their website for full open days but they definitely cover the key holiday periods so imagine what it is like to visit when the leaves are falling or just budding so if you are visiting in the school holidays, a weekend adventure, or a spontaneous family day out, BeWILDerwood is a great family day out option. We live in Norfolk so lucky to have this almost on our doorstep and I don't think we have ever tired of a day out here.
The great part of any day at BeWILDerwood is that we had happy tired out little people and that is a measure of a great family day out in my eyes.

Final Thoughts: A Must‑Visit Norfolk Adventure
If you’re looking for fun things to do with kids BeWILDerwood in Norfolk is a top choice. It’s imaginative, outdoorsy, packed with activities, and perfect for active children who love to explore.
We spent nearly seven hours there without a single moment of boredom — rare, wonderful, and absolutely worth the trip. It’s great value for money and definitely one for the revisit list.
